Aluminium foundries are hazardous environments where workers require complete and effective protection against serious mishaps. Their clothing is an important part of this protection. Finding a technical fabric that provides effective protection from molten aluminium splashes is difficult, given that aluminum’s viscosity (even at its melting temperature of 700°C) makes it simple for it to attach to any fabric, resulting in catastrophic burns.
Nomadic has created a range of technical textiles – ALPRO, for aluminium smelters made from a combination of natural fibers that provide durable efficacy and helps to keep molten metal from adhering to the garment.
Levels of Specifications:
Different levels depend on the amount of molten aluminium (in grams) being splashed at the garment:
- D1: Minimum: 100 grams, Maximum: <200 grams
- D2: Minimum: 200 grams, Maximum: <350 grams
- D3: Minimum: 350 grams
These levels ensure that our fabrics provide the appropriate level of protection required for different industrial applications.
